Character Level & Experience

Understand current-Level XP, increasing requirements, overflow, Level Ups, and the distinction from Social Status.

What is XP?

Experience Points (XP) represent a character's accumulated practical experience. Characters currently earn XP by completing eligible work shifts. XP increases numerical Character Level, and each later Level requires more XP.

How XP is Earned

Completing eligible work shifts awards the XP shown in the employment register. Completing a General Studies course also awards its displayed XP once.

Reading Your XP Progress

The display 140 / 1,400 XP means 140 XP has been earned within the current Level and 1,400 XP is required to reach the next Level.

The progress bar shows the same ratio. In this example, 140 divided by 1,400 is 10% progress toward the next Level.

Leveling Up

When current-Level XP reaches its requirement, Character Level increases by one. Overflow always carries forward.

  • A sufficiently large reward may cross several Levels in one award.
  • Unused XP is never intentionally discarded during normal leveling.
  1. Level 1 begins at 12 / 15 XP.
  2. The character receives +10 XP.
  3. The result is Level 2 at 7 / 20 XP.

XP Requirements

These values are generated from the same progression definition used by gameplay. Requirements continue increasing beyond Level 15.

Level 1 → 215 XP
Level 2 → 320 XP
Level 3 → 480 XP
Level 4 → 5140 XP

Level 7 → 81,000 XP
Level 8 → 91,400 XP
Level 9 → 101,900 XP
Level 10 → 112,500 XP
Level 11 → 123,200 XP
Level 12 → 134,000 XP
Level 13 → 145,000 XP
Level 14 → 156,200 XP

Character Level vs Social Status

Character Level represents accumulated experience. Social Status represents a character's position and advancement within Dunmore Territory society.

Increasing Character Level does not automatically promote Social Status. A Level 15 character may remain a Citizen until the requirements for Skilled Worker are completed. Social Status requirements remain documented in the Social Status guide.

Independent life experience

Manual workshop completion gives 5 Character XP per recipe run; employee-operated production gives no owner XP. Real NPC victories give 15 Character XP per difficulty level. Practice and lessons develop weapon discipline instead of Character Level. None automatically promotes Social Status.
