Implemented
Employees
Hire and pay workshop operators.
Hire and release an NPC operator
Select the responsible character in Business > Employees. Hiring costs 5.000 Bucks once. Each recipe run prepays 0.500 Bucks in wages plus operating costs. One NPC operator can staff each workshop. Release employee returns future production to the character.
- Hire or release only after the entire queue is finished and collected.
- Wages apply to every recipe run in a batch. The starter voucher does not cover employee wages.
- Insufficient funds block new batches without creating debt. An idle employee accrues no wages.
Lease, upgrades and responsibility
The first day's rent is included in every opening. Renew lease adds 24 hours to an active lease or starts a new paid day after expiry. Expired rent blocks new batches; reserved batches still finish and no unattended rent debt accumulates.
- Level 1 provides 500 goods capacity and one queue slot; Level 2 provides 1,000 and two; Level 3 provides 1,500 and three. Upgrading costs 20.000 Bucks from Level 1 or 40.000 Bucks from Level 2.
- Level 2 runs at 1.2 times base speed; Level 3 at 1.4 times. Some recipes require workshop Level 2.
- Finish and collect the entire queue before upgrading, hiring, dismissing or transferring responsibility. Select the existing operator to change these controls.
- Transfer responsibility only to an eligible active character on the same account who meets the workshop's rank and is not already responsible for another workshop. Ownership and goods stay with the household.
Owner activities and experience
The NPC operator frees the owner to take Town contracts and other eligible physical activities while the finite queue continues. Employee production gives no owner Character XP. The owner still chooses recipes and supplies; the employee does not buy materials or repeat batches automatically.
