My Businesses

Operate licensed independent workshops.

My Businesses controls

This page lists household workshops, their operator, lease, capacity and queued batches. A license ready to open appears for the active character. If the list is empty, start at City Hall. Select the workshop's operator to manage production, staffing, rent or upgrades.

City Hall letter: each character; starter voucher: once per account

Every character who reaches Skilled Worker can open their own letter at Business > City Hall. Open City Hall from that character's Command Center livelihood choices, or use PLAY AS for focused play, then read the letter to start their independent story. Reading one character's letter does not accept another character's letter. You do not need to wait for a header Events notification.

  • Personal progress: letter acceptance, story chapters, choices, title, Honor, Notoriety, Heat, injuries, encounters and weapon disciplines belong to the character.
  • Shared resources: businesses, wallet, bank, Storage and Household Provisions belong to the account. Each workshop has one responsible character.
  • The starter voucher is granted once per account, to the first Small Mill or Leather Workshop license issued under the program. It is assigned when that license is issued. Reading more letters or switching characters does not renew it.
  • The voucher covers that license, workshop setup, initial materials, 10 Household Provisions and the operating cost of the first single-run batch. Employee wages are still payable. The first 24 hours of rent are included when any workshop opens.
  • Other characters can play their own story and operate workshops, but their licenses and setup are paid normally after the account voucher has been claimed.

Licenses, opening costs and rent

Each character may operate one workshop; an account may hold up to 4. Read the active character's letter before obtaining a license in City Hall, then open the matching workshop in My Businesses. Prices below apply without the starter voucher. License and setup are separate payments.

Lease, upgrades and responsibility

The first day's rent is included in every opening. Renew lease adds 24 hours to an active lease or starts a new paid day after expiry. Expired rent blocks new batches; reserved batches still finish and no unattended rent debt accumulates.

  • Level 1 provides 500 goods capacity and one queue slot; Level 2 provides 1,000 and two; Level 3 provides 1,500 and three. Upgrading costs 20.000 Bucks from Level 1 or 40.000 Bucks from Level 2.
  • Level 2 runs at 1.2 times base speed; Level 3 at 1.4 times. Some recipes require workshop Level 2.
  • Finish and collect the entire queue before upgrading, hiring, dismissing or transferring responsibility. Select the existing operator to change these controls.
  • Transfer responsibility only to an eligible active character on the same account who meets the workshop's rank and is not already responsible for another workshop. Ownership and goods stay with the household.

Production queues and physical work

In Business > Production, select the workshop operator and start an unlocked recipe. Each queued batch contains 1–5 recipe runs. Inputs and operating costs are committed when the batch starts; refresh does not charge again. Queues are finite and run sequentially on saved server time, including while offline.

  • Manual production costs 2 Energy per queued batch. While the character operates the queue, they cannot depart for Town encounters or start conflicting physical work such as Gardening or house construction.
  • An employee runs the queue without spending the owner's Energy. Wages are prepaid for every recipe run; the owner can take Town contracts while the employee works.
  • Completed output remains owned in the workshop, including offline and without Account Storage. New batches reserve room. A full collection destination leaves the goods READY. The progress display uses saved production times.
  • Manual completion awards 5 Character XP per recipe run to the responsible character. Employee-operated production does not award owner XP.
  • Choose one run for the first voucher-supported batch. Starting a larger batch uses the normal operating cost and consumes the first-batch benefit.
