Gilded Dominion

Welcome to Gilded Dominion

A complete orientation to characters, household resources, work, property, and trade.

Overview

Gilded Dominion is an economic role-playing game set in Reconstruction-era Dunmore Territory. You direct one active character at a time while building a household whose wallet, Storage, properties, Marketplace commitments, and Household Provisions are shared across the account.

First Steps

Begin as a Laborer, take State work, earn Bucks and XP, complete Civic Registration, and satisfy every Citizen promotion requirement shown on Social Status. Citizen standing opens Education, professional Tools and jobs, Account Storage, State rental housing, and private housing.

Messages and Samuel Reed

Messages belongs to your player account and is separate from Events. When guidance enrollment is enabled, a newly created account meets Samuel after naming its first character. He observes genuine work automatically: finish the normal reconstruction shift, view My Profile and the target character's Social Status, then complete a distinct ordinary shift. Page views are orientation only and grant no rewards. The introduction ends after that evidence; Samuel can continue with relevant lessons and actual promotions.

Guidance Recovery

Samuel's current objective is in his conversation. CONTINUE TUTORIAL or CONTINUE GUIDANCE opens its destination. PAUSE GUIDANCE or SKIP GUIDANCE suppresses new guidance without stopping gameplay; RESUME TUTORIAL reconciles saved progress. Guidance stays tied to its named character. Switching characters never resets it, and a return action is explicit. One silent reminder may arrive after three minutes of eligible foreground activity; hidden time and running work do not count. Existing unenrolled accounts and retired journeys are left alone.

Personal and Household Resources

  • Character-local: identity, status, level, XP, Energy, Education, activities, Inventory, equipment, Tool ownership, and residence.
  • Account-global: wallet and bank balances, Storage, Household Provisions, properties, Marketplace escrow and orders, Events, and financial/provisions ledgers.

Authoritative Progress

Jobs, courses, construction, crop growth, daily Energy drain, transactions, and completions use server time and saved state. Closing the browser does not pause them. Opening Help never changes gameplay.

Recommended Route

Work as a Laborer → complete Civic Registration → become a Citizen → secure housing → study and buy the right Tools → construct Storage and property → garden, prepare Provisions, and trade.

Account, Currency, and the State

Your account may contain several characters, but only one is active at a time. BUCKS and GOLD are account balances; Storage, Household Provisions, properties, Marketplace commitments, Events, and ledgers are also shared. Social Status, XP, Education, Energy, activities, Inventory, Tools, and residence remain character-local.

  • The State currently provides Laborer jobs, State Apartments, construction materials through the State Warehouse, and seeds through the State Farm.
  • GOLD is separate from BUCKS. This Guide does not promise a conversion control unless one is actually displayed in the game.
  • Private Marketplace orders reserve account money or commodities in escrow.

A New Character's Route

  1. Review the active character on Character -> Profile.
  2. Complete each of the four Laborer State jobs at least once and five shifts in total.
  3. Reach Level 3, earn 30 lifetime employment BUCKS, finish the 10-minute Civic Registration, and retain the 10 Bucks Citizen fee.
  4. Promote to Citizen and obtain an operational residence.
  5. Study, acquire personal Tools, construct Storage, and enter property, Gardening, trade, and Provisions systems as requirements are met.

Important Principles

  • Status controls opportunity. Shared wealth does not replace rank or Education.
  • Housing is functional. Citizen-and-higher activities commonly require an operational residence.
  • Location matters. Job Tools must be in the acting character's Inventory; bulk resources normally use Storage after construction.
  • Energy must cover the full action. Player activities cannot spend Energy into deficit.
  • Authoritative time persists. Closing the browser does not pause valid timed activities.

Independent life and menus

Town remains visible for every rank. Citizen unlocks lawful contracts, free safe practice, lessons, clinic and repairs; no equipment purchase is needed to begin. Skilled Worker and every higher rank can operate licensed workshops and pursue criminal Town opportunities. Salaried Laborer and Citizen jobs end at this stage. Career > Independent Work becomes your starting page for workshops, contracts and training. Business contains your trade; Town contains districts, NPC contracts, training, encounters and your story. Character retains Profile, Inventory, Storage, Provisions and the existing Items Worn slots.
